We are currently looking for a Buying Manager - Netherlands on a 6 month FTC

In a nutshell, you will be busy …….

Planning and agreeing production based on forecast, organising demand, agreeing pricing and managing positive relations with growers.
On a daily basis you will be:

• Manage demand and supply against the right price at the right moment.
• Monitor daily arrivals vs ordered quantities
• Review customer requirements with the commercial and planning teams and feedback any challenges or opportunities
• Anticipate on any variances from the suppliers’ side and feedback to the business
• Send weekly forecasts to growers
• Model longer term demand and sales and monitor overall positions
• Conduct supplier negotiations within designated sourcing area
• Maintain Supplier accuracy
• Deliver Price variance reporting
• Support the wider Buying and MM Flowers team with any tasks required.

We are looking for a Commercial Executive to join our very busy Commercial Team.

In a nutshell, what you will be doing is:

Working to support the MM Flowers Senior Management team, Directors and Commercial teams and cross-functionally with all departments. Communicating daily with a range of customers, managing long-term positive relationships whilst meeting the customer requirements. Supporting the fulfilment of the commercial responsibilities by ensuring all systems, Bills of Materials (BOMS), product codes and mechanics for each account are set up and maintained in an organised and methodical way.

On a daily basis, you will be:

- In daily contact with multiple customers including buyers/product developers/technologists and Supply Chain Managers
- Swiftly responding to all ad-hoc requests from customers and prioritising effectively
- Assisting in managing customer and grower visits to MM Flowers
- Communicating changes which take place to the product range, daily orders, pricing and product details
- Assisting in the construction of range presentations via the gate process
- Ensuring agreed prices are up to date in Rubicon and customer systems
- Quickly understanding the varied nature of internal and external software systems and utilising these appropriately
- Working alongside the Technical team to ensure product specifications are correct and technical advice is considered and incorporated

What you will already be able to do:

- Have outstanding levels of data entry and co-ordination skills
- Confidence in resolving daily issues which may affect our service level
- Work in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
- Prepare and implementing peak planning models

It’s not essential, but we would also love it if you have:

- Experience in a similar role within fresh produce, food production and/or FMCG environment
- Experience of operating packing machinery

- Ensuring Health and safety is followed and adhered to.

We are looking for quality lead people to join our Production Team as Line Technicians.

In a nutshell, you will be busy …….

As part of the Line Management Team working on the line checking the product quality, and make, against the customer’s individual specification. You will also assist the Line Leader in ensuring the line runs at its optimum levels of efficiently, as well as consistently operating in line with our Health & Safety standards.

On a daily basis you will :

• Act as a role model and ensure all company requirements with regards to the safety, quality and legality of the product are adhered to
• Assist in leading the team to deliver a quality and customer focused efficient packing operation on a day-to-day basis
• Cover the Line Leader in their absence
• Attend and lead, if needed, daily meetings with the team, reporting any areas of concern and recommendations for improvement and root cause analysis.
• Ensure a positive release of each individual bunch on the line that you handle so it adheres to customer specifications
• Help motivate and develop the team to consistently achieve and maintain key performance indicators daily, providing feedback when required
• Have a sound working knowledge of all product specifications
• Be knowledgeable of flower defects and apply it during day-to-day work
• Create the production sample of each new work order, to be placed in a display bucket
• Remove any bunches of flowers where quality falls outside the customer specifications, ensuring that where possible the bunch is reworked to comply with quality
• Ensure that all production standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to when conducting day-to-day production requirements
• Ensure that products are packed to the customer specification on quality and packaging for each customer, informing the Section Leader if this is not the case
• Raise any consistent issues to the Line Leader so that the line can be stopped and the issue corrected
• Support and assist in maintaining the required hygiene standards within the company
• Ensure all company requirements with regards to the safety, quality and legality of the product are adhered to

What you can already do :

• Be familiar operating within a KPI driven structure
• Previous experience in a quality-based role
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Operatives/Pickers
REPORTING TO: Warehouse Section Manager
DEPARTMENT: Operations
LOCATION: Alconbury, Huntingdon

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Label products with the correct amount on the pallet, and correct consignment; all pallets taken in to and out of the stores are scanned in to the correct location.
• Ensure that pallets moved in and out of the warehouse or elsewhere on site are stacked and strapped in a safe and risk-free manner.
• Working as a team to ensure the picking, scanning, labelling, and palletisation of all customers finished goods meet the requirements set out by each customer’s specific guidelines / Supplier handbook.
• Engage with production teams to ensure depot out-loads times and volumes are fulfilled - On Time, In Full.
• Assist with trailer plans, intake and despatch paperwork as and when required.
• Unload and confirm arrival quantities against expected consignment reports and liaise with Quality Control and supply chain teams.
• Manage drivers on site and their paperwork.
• Maintain pallet trucks check every day in accordance with related SOP’s.
• Unloading/loading lorries with packaging, empty pallets or trays.
• Intake – checking and inputting deliveries with the incoming stock. Checking the quality of incoming stock.
• Continuous replenishment of all packaging areas.

In a nutshell, you will be busy …….

Working in one of our very busy roles within the production chain. With beautiful flowers coming in from around the world, we need to deliver a quality lead process of, building beautiful bouquets to our customers exacting standards, and packaging them safely for their onward journey to our customers.

On a daily basis you will be :

Working as part of a team and be trained, with your own nominated buddy, against Standard Operating Procedures within the department. You will be shown how to operate safely with Health and Safety training given to include manual handling, and working with sharps when cutting flowers

• Wrapping/bouquet making/sleeving/box making etc.
• Follow and adhere to the ‘clean as you go’ policy for the site.
• Develop basic skills on Rubicon in order to print finished goods labels.
• Operate the bucket machine and strap machine if required.
• Follow customer specifications against orders and deadlines
• Recognise good and bad quality flowers, raising any concerns with your Line Leader

In a nutshell, you will be busy …….

Leading the global social sustainability agenda for MM Flowers and its supply chain, including human rights and social impact. Working closely with the ESG team, the Group HR Director and key senior leaders within the Group structure, develop an integrated approach to assessing and addressing MM Group’s impact on people within our operations and with our global shareholders, strategically important growers and suppliers, and in collaboration with our retail customers.

On a daily basis you will be :

• The expert and principal point of contact for all matters relating to social sustainability and human rights for the Group, including keeping abreast to the growing regulatory and disclosure landscape for Human Rights Due Diligence, Modern Slavery, Gender and Living Wage.
• Design, develop and implement strategies to raise awareness and increase capability to deliver our human rights commitments across MM Flowers and growers/suppliers with a particular focus on gender and fair pay.
• Working with the Engagement and Reporting Manager, ensure robust reporting against key social sustainability KPIs and a timely, comprehensive modern slavery report.
• Review and deliver the human rights risk assessment and due diligence approach and work with technical and procurement to ensure that ethical sourcing requirements are embedded into business processes and reporting systems.
• Oversee the monitoring of grower/supplier conformance. Review supplier social audits to determine the grading of ethical non-conformances. Ensure areas of non-conformance/concern are addressed Use audit data and trends to inform risk reviews and priorities.
• Work with key suppliers and growers to better understand human rights risks and identify what steps we can take to prevent and manage these.
• Create strong, trusted and collaborative relationships with human rights/ethical trade teams in our retail customers and key suppliers to address systemic issues.
• Identify engagement opportunities aligned to priority areas, and facilitate relationships with relevant multi stakeholder initiatives, NGOs, trade associations, charities etc. representing MM within these forums eg FNET, ETI
• Working closely with the HR team, lead on the Group’s modern slavery programme implementing systems to identify, mitigate and if found remedy instances of modern slavery within the UK and global supply chains.

• Have extensive experience in relevant human rights / social impact role in industry.

In a nutshell, you will be busy …….

Inspection and monitoring of the quality of cut flowers delivered from around the world and the subsequent bouquets produced by MM Flowers for its retail customers. Assess stems/bouquets against specifications to demonstrate the quality performance of MM Flowers and its growers and report results back to growers and internally to drive continuous improvement.

On a daily basis you will be :

Accurately assessing finished goods.
Capturing robust numeric data to ensure consistency in reporting
Assessing all aspects of the finished products and utilise links to support departments to produce a detailed picture e.g.:
• Raw materials – QC intake and APEX data
• Packaging – Commercial, NPD and Packaging departments
• Label accuracy – Print room and Technical departments
• Construction – Operations and Account teams
Accurately recording of findings with supporting photographic evidence where visualisation adds value to inspection data
Completing and send daily, weekly and period reports, within agreed time scales, with supporting evidence e.g. data, photos,
Determining if specifications prepared for the production line staff are accurate and fit for purpose. Where specifications are inadequate/incorrect, address with the Technical department.
Identifying and segregate ‘out of specification’ materials and agree actions with relevant departments
Managing status of out of specification finished goods e.g. ‘Use’, ‘Hold’, etc & ensure clear communication as to the fate of the material
Highlighting to operational staff any finished goods where the specification is not met and ensure that whenever possible the bunch is reworked until it meets the required specification
If the product is inconsistent with the specification inform the Section Leader so that corrective action can be taken
Agreeing corrective actions with relevant department and follow-up with subsequent assessment

For this role it would be really great if you have;

Previous experience in a quality role is very beneficial but not essential (experience of the flower industry also advantageous)

We are currently looking for a Technical Auditor

In a nutshell, you will be busy …….

Assisting with implementation & management of QMS and internal audit program, making sure our audit preparation is well prepared and APS and secondary sites meet audit standards. Ensuring the QMS reflects the most up to date customer standards and coordinating the non-conformance of preventative & corrective actions plans.

In addition you will manage our Pest Control contractors and support both our Technical & Operational teams.

On a daily basis you will be :

• Maintaining the Quality Management System and controlling of documents
• Perform internal audits against the audit schedule (standards audits, GMP, jewellery audits, glass and hard plastics and other appropriate audits)
• Prepare audit & water sampling schedules based on current risk assessments
• Record of non-conformances, investigation, analysis and implementation of corrective action(s) as applicable
• Promote a high standard of awareness and understanding at site level of all appropriate policies, procedures and product specifications as required by our quality standards for all external customers and internal teams
• Positively promote a culture of hygiene and housekeeping
• Positively promote and play part in H&S improvement

What you can already do;

• Have a good level of higher learning and/or equivalent work experience
• Have a high level of IT literacy with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Have strong administrative, numerical, literacy and oral communication skills
• Be a data analytical driven problem solver
• Have a high level of passion and enthusiasm for dealing with internal and external customers
• Have a strong desire to put customer needs at the heart of the business
• Be resilient - the cut flower business is very demanding particularly during the annual ‘peaks’ e.g. Valentine’s Day etc.
