We are currently looking for a Senior NPD Designer

Working with the Head of Commercial to develop, agree and implement the development plan for their customers in line with business and category strategy.
Managing the ‘customer’ product development team with responsibility for end-to-end NPD/ EPD projects across major/minor customers.
Monitoring and benchmarking product quality of existing and new products to ensure product attributes are maintained through the supply chain
Communicate and manage all critical paths and plans, control the resource to deliver projects, working closely with procurement colleagues to access leading edge innovation and cost saving opportunities in the category and across the business.

On a daily basis you will be:
• Driving innovative design solutions, management of projects and critical paths which lead to successful product launches underpinned with consumer data and commercial understanding.
• Lead the design process from concept through to first production, working closely with the commercial, operations, technical, procurement and supply chain teams.
• Lead by example demonstrating passion for products, awareness of process, understanding of financial and commercial requirements and giving clarity of tasks and activities to achieve goal and business success.
• Build team skills and expertise through skills assessment, trade show visits, training, feedback, and support (for example 1:1s, annual reviews etc.)
• Gain a true understanding of the wants and needs of the consumer to innovate new products and processes which will:
o Grow or maintain categories in-line with business strategy.
o Deliver new products and processes which will delight our customers.
• Working with the broader commercial team take a proactive role in the successful delivery of ‘comp shops.
• Ensure the smooth running of the NPD facility, whilst maintaining good standards of housekeeping.
• Ensure our culture and values remain in the forefront of all your activities, contributing to the ongoing development through sharing of ideas, new ways of working and demonstrating agility, flexibility, and a team focus
• Overall responsibility for customer relationship management for new products, engaging the product developer in proactive ways to build the relationship and where possible influence the direction of development.
• Ensure all customer paperwork is provided for NPD samples as required.
• Working closely with the broader commercial team present current and new category concepts to customers backed up by rationale.
• Play a key role in the planning and execution of range reviews with stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a flexible working attitude, to support the business through key seasonal training period and in line with the MM Flowers’ Peak Charter

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Label products with the correct amount on the pallet, and correct consignment; all pallets taken in to and out of the stores are scanned in to the correct location.
• Ensure that pallets moved in and out of the warehouse or elsewhere on site are stacked and strapped in a safe and risk-free manner.
• Working as a team to ensure the picking, scanning, labelling, and palletisation of all customers finished goods meet the requirements set out by each customer’s specific guidelines / Supplier handbook.
• Engage with production teams to ensure depot out-loads times and volumes are fulfilled - On Time, In Full.
• Assist with trailer plans, intake and despatch paperwork as and when required.
• Unload and confirm arrival quantities against expected consignment reports and liaise with Quality Control and supply chain teams.
• Manage drivers on site and their paperwork.
• Maintain pallet trucks check every day in accordance with related SOP’s.
• Unloading/loading lorries with packaging, empty pallets or trays.
• Intake – checking and inputting deliveries with the incoming stock. Checking the quality of incoming stock.
• Continuous replenishment of all packaging areas.

We are currently looking for a Quality Assessor.

In a nutshell, you will be busy …….

Inspection and monitoring of the quality of cut flowers delivered from around the world and the subsequent bouquets produced by MM Flowers for its retail customers. Assess stems/bouquets against specifications to demonstrate the quality performance of MM Flowers and its growers and report results back to growers and internally to drive continuous improvement.

On a daily basis you will be :

Accurately assessing finished goods.
Capturing robust numeric data to ensure consistency in reporting
Assessing all aspects of the finished products and utilise links to support departments to produce a detailed picture e.g.:
• Raw materials – QC intake and APEX data
• Packaging – Commercial, NPD and Packaging departments
• Label accuracy – Print room and Technical departments
• Construction – Operations and Account teams
Accurately recording of findings with supporting photographic evidence where visualisation adds value to inspection data
Completing and send daily, weekly and period reports, within agreed time scales, with supporting evidence e.g. data, photos,
Determining if specifications prepared for the production line staff are accurate and fit for purpose. Where specifications are inadequate/incorrect, address with the Technical department.
Identifying and segregate ‘out of specification’ materials and agree actions with relevant departments
Managing status of out of specification finished goods e.g. ‘Use’, ‘Hold’, etc & ensure clear communication as to the fate of the material
Highlighting to operational staff any finished goods where the specification is not met and ensure that whenever possible the bunch is reworked until it meets the required specification
If the product is inconsistent with the specification inform the Section Leader so that corrective action can be taken
Agreeing corrective actions with relevant department and follow-up with subsequent assessment

For this role it would be really great if you have;

Previous experience in a quality role is very beneficial but not essential (experience of the flower industry also advantageous)
